Nigeria vs Ghana CHAN Qualifier: Black Galaxies head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has named his starting lineup for Saturday’s African Nations Championship qualifier against Nigeria.
Berekum Chelsea attacker, Stephen Amankona, who has netted five times in the current Ghana Premier League season starts from bench, but Albert Amoah of Asante Kotoko keeps his place.
The second leg CHAN qualifier kicks off 16: 00 GMT.
Ghana Starting Lineup vs Nigeria
GK Benjamin Asare, Kamaradini Mamudu, Ebenezer Abban, Razak Simpson, Fatawu Sulemana
Issah Yakubu, Manuel Mantey, Abdulai Nurudeen
Albert Amoah, Jerry Afriye, Mustapha Yakubu
The game takes place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium and the winner advances to the 2024 CHAN finals to be played in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Ghana were held at home 0-0 by the Nigerians at the Accra Sports Stadium on 22nd December.
There are no places for Nations FC offensive midfielder Faisal Charwetey, top scorer of the 2024-25 GPL with 8 goals and Kotoko’s Emmanuel Antwi as the duo do not even make the bench.
The latter came off the substitute bench in the 0-0 in Accra, but the Nations player was not part of the matchday squad.
On top of that, Isaac Afful, who completed 90 minutes in the first leg, is not part of the team to face the Nigerians today.
