Odotei Sowah Sets The Records Straight After Series of Allegations : Hearts of Oak board member Honorable Vincent Odotei Sowah has justified why he and Alhaji Brimah Akanbi are the right persons to manage the affairs of the Phobian side making reference to a statement made by the majority shareholder of the club Togbe Afede XIV.
“Togbe himself has said it that , excuse me , he is not stupid to invest huge sums of money in Hearts of Oak and then put the wrong people.?” , Odotei Sowah said in an interview with Oyerepa Sports.
“Anybody at all can wake up , oh , you are destroying the club. Give evidence ,back it with evidence. What is happening in Hearts of Oak is that people has made themselves like opposition , like politics.”
“People who are close to the club from afar , just think that it is Odotei and Akanbi who are close to Togbe and so let us destroy them , let’s demonize them and this is the problem of Hearts of Oak.” , the former GFA Presidential Candidate added.
Responding to allegations that he influences player and coach transfer decisions at the club , Odotei said :
“Let them give you one one evidence of what we have done wrong. Let me tell me I have never brought any player to Hearts of Oak since I started managing Hearts of Oak in 2008. I have never done that. I have never brought one single player.”
“I have never recruited a player myself that this is a player I want to bring to Hearts of Oak.
Some of the supporters who are so vociferous have their brothers in Hearts of Oak , some of the coaches have their wives managing players in Hearts of Oak and they have the audacity to come on air and talk about Odotei and Akanbi. They should point to one player and say that I have brought him to Hearts of Oak.”
“I never recruit a player when he is not recommended by the technical men , by a coach. I will never do that. It is just politics. What is this thing about Odotei and Akanbi.”
“We don’t talk because believe in the media discourse and the way things are done , you wake up every morning and people are just going on and on about. Is not the way we want to run the football but people should realize that what we are doing at Hearts of Oak that will be sustainably competitive so that Hearts of Oak will be able to regain it’s strength. We went to Africa and we didn’t do well.” , Odotei Sowah concluded.
