Asante Kotoko : Dr. Ogum sets unwanted record never seen in 13 years after Samartex defeat !

Ogum and Asante Kotoko Suffer Three League Defeats in a Row : Asante Kotoko were defeated at FC Samartex on Saturday afternoon in Samreboi in a Week 10 Ghana Premier League match as Emmanuel Keyekeh punished his former side.

The on form midfielder scored an incredible freekick to put his team ahead in the 30th minute and that was the only goal of the game.

The defeat means the Kotoko team has suffered three league losses in a row for the first time in thirteen years. Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum’s side lost to Nsoatreman FC in Nsoatre on Match-day 8 and were edged on their own turf by Dreams FC during Week 9 in Kumasi.

The last time the Reds lost three successive league games dates back to the 2010/11 season. The Porcupine Warriors lost to King Faisal by 3-2 on October 24th , 2010 during Round 8 , 1-0 defeat against Hearts of Oak in Kumasi on October 31st , 2010 in Week 9. Head coach Ebo Mends was fired the next day as Bogdan Korac arrived in Ghana to take over.

The Week 10 game at Aduana FC ended in a 2-0 defeat on November 7th , 2010 as Bernard Dong Bortey netetd twice for the Ogya Side before New Edubiase added injury to insult by dominating the Warriors by 2-1 at the Babayara stadium as Kotoko lost four league games in succession.

The team managed to finish third on the final league standings of the 2010/11 season as Berekum Chelsea won their first and only league title.
