Paris 2024 Olympics Games Football: Check Out Thierry Henry’s Provisional 25-man Squad for France !

Paris 2024 Olympics Games Football: Thierry Henry, head coach of the France men’s Olympic team has announced a 25-man provisional squad for the upcoming Olympics Games football tournament.

The 2024 Summer Olympics Games will take place in France between 26th July and 11th August, 2024 as the men’s tournament final is scheduled to happen on 10th August.

The former Arsenal and FC Barcelona attacker unveiled the interim list on Monday morning at the headquarters of the French Football Federation.

Henry must send his final list of 22 players no later than 3rd July. Teams can select 3 players who are older than 23-years.

After fifteen days of training at Clairefontaine, the Bleuets will have three preparation matches to play. The first against Paraguay on 4th July  in Bayonne, the second against the Dominican Republic on 11th July while a  final test is planned against Japan on 17th July in Toulon.

France are in Group A alongside USA, Guinea, and New Zealand. The French Olympic team will begin its tournament on 24th July against the United States at the Stade Vélodrome.

Thiery Henry’s Provisional List

Goalkeepers:

Lucas Chevalier (Lille), Guillaume Restes (Toulouse), Obed Nkambadio (Paris FC), Robin Risser (Strasbourg)

Defenders:

Bafodé Diakité (Lille), Maxime Estève (Burnley), Bradley Locko (Brest), Castello Lukeba (Leipzig), Kiliann Sildillia (Fribourg), Adrien Truffert (Rennes), Lenny Yoro (Lille)

Midfielders:

Maghnes Akliouche (Monaco), Joris Chotard (Montpellier), Désiré Doué (Rennes), Manu Koné (Mönchengladbach), Khephren Thuram (Nice), Enzo Millot (Stuttgart), Lesley Ugochukwu (Chelsea), Warren Zaire-Emery (PSG )

Forwards:

Unless there is a last-minute surprise, Antoine Griezmann, Olivier Giroud, and Real Marid-bound Kylian Mbappé will not be part of the France Olympic contingent this summer.

Atletico Madrid and the Spanish giants, who defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in Saturday’s final to pick a record-extending 15th Champions League title and do not want to see Griezmann and the former PSG star, in that order, play at both the Euros and the Olympics Games following a tiring 2023/24 season.

As for Giroud, he decides to take his football career to the United States of America.
