Randy Abbey on 50 000 GHC GFA Presidential Filing Fee : Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) , Randy Abbey , says he is surprised why some people are still discussing the 50 000 GHC nomination fee for the GFA Presidential position that was approved by the 29th Ordinary GFA Congress in Kumasi on July 10th.
The filing fee for the highest position at the GFA has seen a 900 % increment (from 5000 GHC in 2019 to 50 000 GHC).
Abbey , whose Heart of Lions , have qualified to the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League , says the right process was followed to get the increment accepted.
“The laws stipulates that it is only Congress that can impose fees , the laws states that the Executive Council should let the shareholders or members of the Congress have the agenda 14 days before the Congress takes place.” , Randy Abbey said.
“So that was done and also the laws states that if any member has an issue to raise or a different view or a counter proposal regarding the agenda that they received 14 days before the Congress, they can do so in writing to the General Secretary of the GFA.
No one submitted any counter proposal and every single member of the Congress was given the document and what is the issue , so why should this even be an issue” , he added.
Meanwhile , former vice-president of the GFA , George Afriyie has already announced his decision to contest the incumbent GFA boss Kurt Okraku in the next GFA Presidential elections.
