RB Leipzig’s 30 million Euro Offer for Openda Rejected by Lens : With 21 goals (including just 1 penalty) and 4 assists, Lens striker Loïs Openda is of interest to several clubs including RB Leipzig, which saw its 30 million offer rejected by the Sang et Or club.
Leipzig has sold star attacker Christopher Nkunku to Chelsea for a fee around 60 million Euros and they definitely need to replace the French forward.
According to information from RMC Sport, the artesian club will start studying offers from 50 million euros.
Last season the young midfielder Cheick Doucouré left for Cristal Palace for 25 million euros. For an attacker, it is estimated in Lens that the transfer fee should be much more.
In this case, the team of Ghana midfielder Salis Abdul Samed is in a strong position : Loïs Openda is still under contract for 4 years, he is a young Belgian international regularly utilized by Domenico Tedesco and Lens is not obliged to sell given his season in Ligue 1 (second to PSG and a qualification in the Champions League).
For the player, the desire to leave Lens was made during an interview with RTL in Belgium last week :
“I think Leipzig can be a great club that will help me to be able to take a step in my career in terms of ambition. […] It’s a team that can take me to the highest level.”
For the moment the negotiations are on stand-by, Loïs Openda is currently with the Belgian team.
