Latest News on Mbappe-PSG Standoff as of July 17th

A meeting between Kylian Mbappé, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Luis Enrique and Luis Campos took place on Tuesday at the PSG training center.

The French striker, at the end of the contract in 2024, reiterated his choice not to leave Paris this summer, whatever the price to be paid. The case is at a complete impasse.

Kylian Mbappé persists and says : he does not want to leave PSG this summer.

The 2018 world champion reaffirmed his choice with the club on Tuesday, during a meeting, as reported by Le Parisien and confirmed by RMC Sport.

According to our information, in addition to striker and president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Luis Campos and Luis Enrique were also present for this exchange.

He won’t play if he doesn’t extend

This desire, Kylian Mbappé has maintained it from the start. Since he decided not to activate his optional extra year, which would have linked him to PSG until 2025.

The former Monegasque wants to stay in Paris this season and leave free in 2024. He maintains.

For his part, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi explained, in a tense atmosphere, to Mbappé that he would not play if he did not extend.

No transfer, no extension. Kylian Mbappé did not disassemble and explained to him his way of seeing things: a free start in the summer of 2024. The file therefore seems to be in a total impasse.

In early July, when Luis Enrique took over as coach, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi spoke publicly for the first time on this issue. “He can’t leave for free,” said the leader.
