RTU 1 Hearts of Oak 0 : This is the full reaction of Hearts of Oak head coach Martin Koopman !

Hearts of Oak head coach Martin Koopman has reacted to his side’s 1-0 defeat at Real Tamale United during the opening day of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League on Friday.

The Pride of the North left it late to overcome the Phobians as Owusu Afriyie headed home the only goal of the game in the 92nd minute from a corner kick.

The Dutch trainer spoke after the game at the Aliu Mahama sports stadium.

“If you lose you are always disappointed but I think it was a very nice game to see , a fighting game. Of course we like to play football , if you cannot play football you must fight also.”

“In the first half they had a lot of chances too and so we will not say it (their win) is not deserved. They scored from a corner kick and I think overall they deserved a winning game.”

“You never know in football. In the second half we came from what you see in the first half , then we said for one point we sign for it , but I think all over the game it was okay for me and so let’s go for the next game and we must make steps forward. We must work very hard with this young team but I have confidence , nice for them (RTU) , not nice for us”
