Sadick Adams on Kotoko 2017 Team Bus Accident : Former Asante Kotoko striker Sadick Adams says he will continue to demand for compensation from the club as he formed part of the victims of 2017 Kotoko team bus accident.
The management of Asante Kotoko released a statement on 1st May 2023 and revealed that the cub has started taking steps to address the grievances of the various victims of the 2017 team bus accident of the Porcupine Warriors and this is after the incapacitated former goalkeepers coach of the club Sampson Appiah went public seeking for financial help.
“Management have taken notice of disappointment pouring out in respect of lack of support for the victims of the accident which occurred in 2017.
Upon assuming office in 2020,Management and the Board sought to help find a solution to deal with this matter without success.
Management shall engage the Board again on the matter.
In anticipation of approval from the Board, we have started engaging representatives of the victims and will come out with a short to medium term plan to alleviate their situation in the coming days. Thank you.” , the Kotoko statement released on Sunday April 30th concluded.
Adams scored 12 goals in 10 games for the club during a brief spell and his hat trick against Hearts of Oak in the 2017 FA Cup final in Tamale is what he is mostly remembered for.
“It is so painful what they did to us. As players of the club we were supposed to get some compensation but we did not receive a dime.” , Sadick Adams told Service Radio.
“People donated monies to the club and yet we were given nothing. We started complaining and leaders of the club got annoyed and even ensured that those players are transferred out of the club.
I have already said that I will never forgive the club if they don’t settle me. We have sent several letters to the club and Manhyia Palace but there has not been any reply.” , the former Ghana youth star who recently announced his retirement from professional football added.
