Hearts of Oak chief football scout Sebastien Barnes has revealed why he left his coaching job at Bayern Munich to become the main scout of the Phobians.
The former Hearts of Oak player is part of the technical team headed by Dutch trainer Martin Koopman for the current league season.
“You know there is difference between coaching and scouting. My job was coaching , I was not scouting in Germany , I was coaching. So Hearts of Oak approached me and I looked into the contract and everything. You know when I started my football I played for Hearts of OaK.” , he said to Ghanasportspage.com.
“Last year didn’t go well , so I said let me bring my experience to help the club. I was coaching at the youth side of Bayern Leverkusen. I coached the Under 9 , Under 10 , Under 11 , Under 12 , Under 14 , Under 15 , Under 16 and Under 19. So I have this quality in scouting good players and when I was a player I was also a captain and so I know good players.”
“That is why I said okay let me come to Ghana to help my former club fetch good young players. Players who have the skills of Abedi Pele , Odartey Lamptey , Alex Opoku and many more players whose qualities are missing in the system” , Barnes explained.
