Manchester United were among the teams who had scouts present at the Allianz Arena on Sunday to watch Guinea striker Serhou Guirassy, whose Stuttgart side were beaten 3-0 by Bayern Munich, according to 90min.

Guirassy’s rise has been one of the stories of the 2023/24 season so far, with his tally of 16 goals only bettered by Harry Kane’s 20 in Europe’s top five leagues.

90min understands representatives from United were in Bavaria to keep an eye on Guirassy, while Fulham, West Ham and Milan also had officials in attendance for similar reasons.

While Kane was able to get on the scoresheet twice to extend his lead at the top of both the Bundesliga and European Golden Shoe charts, Guirassy was mostly pinned down by Bayern centre-backs Kim Min-jae and Dayot Upamecano, who restricted him to just one shot.

90min previously reported that Guirassy’s representatives were confident of sealing a move to a Premier League side during the January transfer window. United – as well as Arsenal, Everton, Newcastle, Tottenham and Wolves – have been contacted about a possible deal, while Bournemouth, Brentford and Crystal Palace have also scouted him this season.

United’s need for an experienced striker has been laid bare this season, scoring only 18 goals in 17 Premier League games thus far. Summer signing Rasmus Hojlund racked up five goals during the Champions League group stages but is yet to get off the mark in domestic action.

27-year old Serhou Guirassy has grabbed 32 goals in 41 matches for Stuttgart since first joining them on an initial loan at the start of the 2022/23 season, signing on a permanent deal during the most recent summer transfer window.

Serhou Guirassy is in line to join up with the Guinea squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off on January 13 but competing nations are able to call up players two weeks prior to that date.
