So far so good for Matheus De Souza at Asante Kotoko as he scores debut goal against RTU

So Far So Good for Matheus De Souza at Kotoko : Brazilian striker Matheus De Souza scored his maiden Asante Kotoko goal against Real Tamale United on Sunday night during a Week 25 betPawa Ghana Premier League match in Kumasi.

The defending league champions thrashed ten-man Real Tamale United by 4-0 at the Babayara sports stadium and De Souza was one of the goal scorers.

So far , so good for the foreign footballer.

After impressing against Legon Cities in his first start for the Porcupine Warriors since joining in January 2023 , the Brazilan attacker kept his place against RTU on Sunday and he shone once again.

It was his action that resulted in the numerical advantage and the opening goal for the home team.

RTU goalkeeper Yaw Osei moved out of his area to launch his legs into the Brazilian , bringing him down and referee Daniel Laryea did not hesitate to award a free-kick to Kotoko before brandishing a straight red card to Osei who was the last player of the away team on that occasion.

RTU then sacrificed out-field player Jorge Renchi for second-choice goalkeeper Lukman Sheriff to join the game.

The latter conceded the first goal of the night immediately after entering the match with Augustine Agyapong , in the 37th minute , superbly netting from the free-kick that saw Yaw Osei sent-off.

Matheus De Souza kept on tormenting the opposition defenders and in the 90th minute he was rewarded with a goal thanks to the service of Georges Mfegue as Kotoko won 4-0.

Asante Kotoko Starting Line – Up :

GK Frederick Asare

Augustine Agyapong , Mohammed Alhassan , Mohamed Sherif , Nicholas Osei Bonsu

Eric Serge Zeze , Richard Boadu , Richmond Lamptey

Isaac Oppong , Matheus De Souza , Steven Mukwala
