“Your heydays are over. The modern game is dynamic and the earlier you wake up the better” – Aduana’s Takyi Arhin tells Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko

Takyi Arhin Asks Hearts and Kotoko to be Dynamic : Aduana Football Club general manager Takyi Arhin has tasked Ghana’s most successful football clubs , Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko to embrace modern football development ideas and stop relying on their past glories.

The veteran football administrator who was known to be a hard critic of of the last years of the Kwesi Nyantakyi-led Ghana Football Association tackled the Porcupine Warriors and the Phobians as he responded to questions about the dwindling stadium attendance of the Ghana Premier League.

“The playing days and the heydays are over. The modern football is so dynamic now and so you cannot say you are Kotoko so the fans will come to your matches just like that. Why was it that when the free gates were opened the fans did not still come?” , Takyi Arhin quizzed on Kumasi-based Fox FM on Thursday.

“It was due to a whole lot of factors. Liverpool and Manchester United were also playing around the same time and the youth of today so much love foreign football.” , Takyi Arhin added.

“If you come to Dormaa we don’t play in empty stadium , the fans come. If you go to Nsoatre , they don’t play in empty stadium too. Last Sunday we were at Samreboi and the stadium was full to capacity and so the earlier Hearts of Oak and Kotoko wake up from their slumber the better.”

The debate about the current state of Ghana football continue to generate heated exchanges among football people in the country.
