Meet the 4 top-class barristers who represented Benjamin Mendy to get him completely acquitted of all rape and sexual assault charges !

The 4 Lawyers That Represented Benjamin Mendy : Hickman & Rose partners Jenny Wiltshire and Peter Csemiczky represent Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy, who has been acquitted of rape and attempted rape following a retrial at Chester Crown Court.

Mr Mendy was unanimously acquitted of the two charges following a police investigation that started in 2020. He has now been unanimously acquitted of all ten charges he faced, having been found not guilty of seven charges of rape and one of sexual assault after a five month first trial which concluded earlier this year.

Mr.Mendy was represented in court by barristers Eleanor Laws KC and Orla Daly, both of QEB Hollis Whiteman chambers.

GhanaSportsMarket.com takes a brief summary of the four lawyers who came together to achieve this historic legal victory for the former AS Monaco left-back and it is worthy of notice that , three of them are females.

3.JENNY WILTSHIRE

Lawyer of the week: Jenny Wiltshire, who acted for three of the Stockwell Six, whose convictions were overturned

Head of Serious & General Crime, Jenny Wiltshire is an expert criminal defence solicitor with deep knowledge and long experience of police investigations into major crimes and the complex trials to which they can lead. She is recognised as one of the UK’s leading lawyers in her practice areas and has enjoyed a long run of success representing clients facing some of the gravest criminal charges, including murder, manslaughter and serious sexual assaults.

Much of Jenny’s work takes place early in a criminal allegation’s lifetime. She has often achieved positive results for her clients long before the charge stage.

This has caused her to be much in demand by high-profile clients seeking a swift and discreet resolution to what, if made public, would be highly damaging allegations. She frequently acts for professionals caught up in the criminal justice system – including doctors, bankers, teachers, lawyers and politicians.

Jenny is one of the country’s foremost legal experts on sexual assaults (both historic and current) and also so-called ‘baby shaking’ cases – an area of law in which she broke new ground.

She has successfully represented numerous high-profile and professional individuals in respect of sexual assault allegations as well as many bereaved parents and members of health services accused of harming children and babies.

The key to Jenny’s success is her ability to unravel complex medical and forensic evidence. She also benefits from an ability to listen and get the best out of her clients. Her case organisation skills and her attention to detail often unearths disclosure that is case breaking.

Jenny was Vice President of the London Criminal Courts Solicitors Association between 2015 and 2017 and Secretary between 2014 and 2015. She is a founding member of Women in Criminal Law.

4.PETER CSEMICZKY

Peter Csemiczky - Hickman & Rose Solicitors - London

Peter Csemiczky is an expert criminal defence solicitor in our Serious & General Crime team who offers his clients a complete service from investigation to trial. He acts for individuals and organisations facing a broad spectrum of criminal allegations: from homicide and other violent offences to serious sexual assaults, drugs, communications and motoring offences.

Whatever the allegation, Peter understands the impact of an investigation or proceedings on his clients and gives the same intense commitment to all his cases.

As litigator and advocate in both Magistrates’ and Crown Courts, Peter specialises in representing professionals such as business people, doctors and lawyers, as well as high profile individuals for all of whom any suggestion that they are connected to a crime is professionally devastating.

He is expert in navigating the investigation and prosecution processes so that allegations are either ended early or are completed in in the most discreet way possible. His diligent case preparation, fierce determination and sympathetic manner mean that clients are highly enthusiastic about the results he achieves.

Peter’s clients have included some of the best known people in Britain facing the most serious allegations. He takes pride in providing a truly personal and dedicated service to all his clients, whatever their problem.

Peter has developed a niche specialism advising individuals on the criminal, regulatory and reputational implications of social media posts and maintaining an online profile.

After initially training to be a professional musician, Peter qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and joined Hickman & Rose in 2015. He was made a partner in January 2018 when he was also recommended by Chambers UK as a “rising star in the criminal defence world”.

Peter was the Honorary Secretary of the London Criminal Courts Solicitors’ Association from 2018 to 2020. He is also member of the European Criminal Bar Association.
