Majority of Hearts of Oak players have asked head coach Martin Koopman to apologize to the team after the latter openly said the team lacks a proper striker following a home drawn game against Dreams FC last Sunday.
“We did a very good job but we have no striker , we have no no striker , Issah is going to abroad and so we have no striker back. So I tell them every time that we have no striker. Do you think Kashala was good playing , he was not good playing and so the next one was Hamza Issah , young player , a lot of talent also and he fights. Hamza Issah is the next option for us and so that was the reason” , Martin Koopman said after the Week Four Ghana Premier League game.
Koopman’s comments has infuriated the attackers of Hearts of Oak and most of the senior players believe the coach’s outburst is morale-damaging against the entire team since football is a collective job.
Ironically , the only goal scored by Koopman’s team this season was netted by Kashala Ramos against Nsoatreman and it is interesting the Congolese was the target of the Dutch trainer’s criticism.
Meanwhile according to Ghanasportspage.com Martin Koopman , before the Heart of Lions match on Sunday , will definitely meet the entire team where he will clarify his comments and possibly issue an apology in order to maintain his control and respect in the dressing room.
