Asante Kotoko emerged victorious over Kaizer Chiefs in the Toyota Cup 2025, winning 3-2 on penalties after a goalless 90 minutes.
The fiercely contested clash took place at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly Guinean goalkeeper Mohammed Camara, who delivered a stunning performance with four penalty saves to secure the win for the Porcupine Warriors.

The captain led by example, marshalling the defense with authority and composure. His leadership kept the backline disciplined, especially during Chiefs’ intense late pressure, though he missed his spot kick.
Henry Ansu – Rating: 6.5/10
Ansu’s energy and pressing were noticeable, especially in the first half. His link-up play showed promise, though he failed to find space in dangerous areas.
Lord Amoah – Rating: 7/10
Asiedu, featured prominently in the match-day poster, impressed with his tenacity and vision. He was Kotoko’s most progressive midfielder and looked the likeliest to break the deadlock during open play.

Emmanuel Antwi – Rating: 6.5/10
Played a key midfield role, distributing passes effectively and breaking up play. Lacked creativity in the final third but remained solid defensively.
Seth Kwadwo – Rating: 6.5/10
Was also instrumental in midfield, showcasing strong distribution and ball-winning skills. While not a creative force in attack, remained dependable defensively.
Albert Amoah – Rating: 6/10
A quiet performance. Amoah struggled to assert himself in attack and often gave the ball away under pressure. However, he made amends by scoring in the shootout.

A subdued display from Amoah, who found it difficult to make an impact going forward under tight marking from the Kaizer Chiefs defence.

Put in a hardworking shift on the right side, covering a lot of ground and offering defensive support. Struggled to make attacking inroads but showed commitment in the transitional phases.
