George Afriyie Speaks About the Latest Ghana Squad : Black Stars of Ghana head coach Chris Hughton announced his 25-man selection for the 2023 AFCON Qualifying matches against Angola and former Ghana Football Association vice President George Afriyie has reacted to Hughton’s maiden Black Stars invitations.
“I saw it (the call-ups) in the flash and I think my expectations have been met. I was hoping to see some players that were omitted from the squad that took part in the World Cup and the only player missing to my surprise is Jeffrey Schlupp but hey you can’t call every player and so they may be other reasons I am not aware.” , George Afriyie said on Accra-based 3FM.
“For me I take it that the coach has done well. Once the list is releases it ahs always been my position that let’s support the team , let’s support the coach and let’s support the management to deliver.” , the former GFA number two added.
The Black Stars will host Palancras Negras at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Thursday, March 23 before travelling to Luanda on March 27, 2023 for the reverse fixture.
