Full time : Al Hilal fail to beat Mamelodi Sundowns in Omdurman as Ethar El Tahir misses a 90th minute penalty

Al-Hilal held at Home By Mamelodi Sundowns : Al-Hilal SC failed to win at home against Mamelodi Sundowns at the Al Hilal Stadium during Match-Day Five of the 2022/23 CAF Champions League in Group B as Ethar El Tahir missed a glorious opportunity from the spot to score the winner for the home team.

Saturday’s encounter ended 1-1 meaning the Al Ahly – Al Hilal Match-Day Six clash in Cairo will decide which of the two sides joins Sundowns to qualify from the group.

Johnson Mudau slotted home the opening goal of the game in the 67th minute after goalkeeper Ali Abdullah Abou Achrine spilled Modiba Aubrey’s freekick.

Skipper Mohamed Abdel Raman equalized in the 72nd after taking advantage of a howler by Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.

Al-Hilal were awarded a penalty in the 90th minute but Ethar El Tahir failed to score from 12 yards out as Williams made amends with a good save.

Ghana defender Ibrahim Imoro started the match but he was substituted in the 33rd minute as David Abagna remained an unused substitute.
