Asamoah Gyan Hails Nuamah Appiah : Legendary Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan has hailed Black Meteors and Nordsjaelland winger Ernest Nuamah Appiah following his top performance against Algeria in the 2023 CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations final qualification round.
The Black Meteors defeated Algeria on Tuesday by 1-0 at the Babayara sports stadium to qualify to the tournament finals with a 2-1 aggregate success and the 19-year old was key.
Even though the Nordsjaelland left-winger did not score , he assisted both goals that Abdul Fatawu Issahaku scored across the two legs against the Fennec Foxes ; the sensational long range goal in Annaba of Fatawu and the header of the Sporting CP youngster at Kumasi yesterday.
Many Ghanaians have hailed the quality of football played by the duo and the country’s all-time goal scorer is the latest to give Nuamah a mention.
“Another next big thing for Ghana. Check out the jersey number his is wearing” , Gyan tweeted on Wednesday as he made special reference to the jersey number three worn by the 19 year old.
Ibrahim Tanko and the Ghana U23 players will be making their second appearance at the U23 Africa Cup of Nations at the Morocco tournament later this year following Ghana’s maiden participation in 2019.
Nuamah Appiah joined Nordsjaelland in January 2022 from the Right to Dream Academy of Ghana.
