Chelsea Want Andre Onana this Summer : Premier League giants Chelsea FC are understood to be highly interested in getting Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana as they are not convinced with Spanish custodian Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The Blues made Kepa the world’s most expensive goalkeeper in August 2018 as they paid a reported fee of 80 million Euros for the Athletic Bilbao man.
After falling behind Senegalese Edouard Mendy for two seasons , 2020/21 and 2021/22 , the Spaniard is back as Chelsea number one this season but Chelsea are still scanning the market for a better goalkeeper.
The cover of La Gazzetta dello Sport opens with the interest of the English team in Onana who announced his international retirement after clashing with Indomitable Lions head coach Rigobert Song.
The former FC Ajax first choice custodian could go out for around 40 to 50 Million Euros as Kepa is expected to leave the London side at the end of the current season.
Onana and Inter Milan are into the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League where they will face Benfica on 11th and 19th April. The Serie A side eliminated FC Porto in the previous round as the African goalkeeper proved key in both legs.
The 26-year old has kept 14 clean sheets in 28 matches in all events this season for his club and interests from big clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea continue to come in for him.
