Chris Hughton Subs Local Players Again : Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton did not select any home-based player in his latest squad to face Madagascar during Match-Day Five of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification.
Hughton has watched a number of Ghana Premier League games before his squad was announced on Tuesday but it appears none of the players impressed him as he picks a hundred percent foreign-based list.
The former Brighton and Holve Albion manager did not invite any home-based player in his maiden Black Stars call-ups for the AFCON qualifiers against Angola in March and it was thought that in his subsequent selections , at least a few local players would receive invitations but that is not the case.
Players such as Vincent Atingah of Medeama , Gold Stars’s Abednego Tetteh , Kofi Agbesimah of Bechem United and co have been on some fine form this season and could have been considered by the Ghana gaffer.
