A crunch meeting was held at Accra Hearts of Oak on Thursday ahead of the Ghana Premier League Week Seven fixture between the Phobians and Bibiani Gold Stars on Saturday.
Members of the board of directors , the head coach Martin Koopman , the National Chapters Committee leadership , and the entire playing body were present at the meeting.
The board did not hide their disappointment over the poor form the team this season especially in terms of the last three league matches where Hearts of Oak have picked just two points from possible nine.
According to Ghanasportspage.com , the Hearts directors also threaten to reduce the salaries of underperforming players as they finally challenge the team to turn things around by winning at Gold Stars tomorrow in Bibiani.
However , we are told most of the players left the meeting with some degree of fear following the meeting whilst others think the board involved the supporters leadership in a bid to turn against the fans.
Finally , when Martin Koopman was given the opportunity to talk he did not mince words as registered his displeasure over the harsh manner in which the Hearts directors talked to the players and dared the board to sack him if they think he is not up to the task.
