Full Time : Ghana stage a great comeback in Kumasi to defeat Central African Republic to qualify for 2023 AFCON !

The Black Stars of Ghana came from a goal down to defeat Central African Republic by 2-1 on Thursday evening at the Babayara sports stadium in Kumasi as the four-time African champions qualify for a tenth straight Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Mohammed Kudus , the newly signed West Ham United midfielder , netted a sublime free-kick in the 43rd minute to cancel Louis Mafouta’s 25th minute strike.

Substitute Antoine Semenyo then set up another substitute Ernest Appiah Nuamah to score Ghana’s second goal of the game with three minutes from time.

Angola who drew 0-0 at home against Madagascar join the Ghanaians as the two qualified teams from the group.

Semenyo who recently scored for Bournemouth against Liverpool in the Premier League also hit the goal post as Ghana finished the game as the better side.

The team of Chris Hughton thus topped the group standings with 12 points in games whilst Angola take second position with their 9 points.
