Hearts of Oak Legends

Hearts of Oak Legends : Some former players of Hearts of Oak visited the team on Friday to motivate them to produce one of the great comebacks in the history of Ghanaian clubs in Africa.

The Phobians were battered by AS Real Bamako by 3-0 exactly a week ago in Bamako during the first leg match of the CAF Confederation Cup Second Preliminary Round and they will need to repeat the “Miracle of El Wak of 1977” in order to advance.

Amongst the former Phobians who visited the team were former captain of the team the legend Yaw Amankwa Mireku and the great Bernard Don Bortey ;

In November 1977 , Hearts of Oak produced one of the biggest comebacks in the history of the Africa Cup of Champions Cubs now known as the CAF Champions League.

The Ghanaian side lost 5-2 away at Mighty Mufulira Wanderers of Zambia in the first leg of the semi-finals tie between the two sides.

In the return leg at the El Wak stadium in Accra on 6th November 1977 , Hearts of Oak recorded an incredible 3-0 win over the Zambians to the reach their first ever Champions League final and the “Miracle of El Wak” was therefore created.

Do you think Hearts of Oak can eliminate AS Real Bamako on Sunday?
