Inaki Williams Fails to Impress against Angola in Kumasi

Inaki Williams Fail to Impress against Angola in Kumasi : Athletic Bilbao attacker Inaki Williams failed to shine in front of a strong Babayara stadium crowd on Thursday evening as Ghana defeated Angola by 1-0 to take full control of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification Group E.

It appears more and more Ghanaians fans are running out of time to be patient with Williams after making his seventh consecutive appearance for the Black Stars without actually making any significant impact.

The 28-year old who switched allegiance to Ghana in June 2022 started all three group stages games of the Black Stars at the 2022 FIFA World Cup under former head coach Otto Addo.

In front of a packed Babayara stadium in Kumasi , Williams was expected to have a big game against the Angolans but that was not the case.

There were plenty of chances for the La Liga striker but his strikes were not quality enough to shake the back of the net of Adilson Cipriano Da Cruz.

Substitute Antoine Semenyo who replaced Williams in the 68th minute provided Ghana with the much needed breakthrough goal in the 94th minute after he smashed home from a rebound incident in the Angola area.

So far the Spanish-born has failed to impress in Ghana games and he knows that as a striker , you are largely measured by your goal contributions.
