Kadiogo 0 Kotoko 1 as Isaac Oppong scores

Kadiogo 0 Kotoko 1 : The preliminary CAF Champions League match between Rail Club de Kadiogo Asante Kotoko ended 1-0 in favour of Ghana champions Kotoko. 

Isaac Oppong scored an important stoppage time winner to give Kotoko a first leg advantage.

The match played at the General Mathieu Kerekou Friendship Stadium in Cotonou on Monday evening.

The official Asante Kotoko Twitter page run live text commentary of the match and we reproduce it below :

3rd minute – Sherif takes the ball calmly at the back and looks to find Tedeku on the left,but he has been blocked.

6th minute – Boadu drags the ball from middle and locates Lamptey who tries to play a one-two with Mfegue but the pass has been intercepted.

1th minute – Oppong dazzles the ball from left and lofts it for Mfegue who tries a first-time shot but the execution is just wide .

14th minute – Mfegue weaves his way through and finds Morrison who locates Oppong but he is flagged offside.

18th minute : Mfegue with a golden chance to put us in the lead from Oppong’s low cross across goal but he misses.

24th minute – Our warriors are dominating play. Morrison with a delightful pass to Mfegue but the Cameroonian’s touch is too heavy and out for goal kick.

28th minute – Free kick Kadiogo. It is effected but Boadu boots it clear to safety.

32nd minute – Corner kick to Kadiogo. The hosts swings it in but Boadu has been brought down in the tussle. Free kick Kotoko.

44th minute – Free kick Kadiogo just outside our box. It’s flown in but their connection lacks direction and it’s out for a goal kick.

47th minute – Tedeku surges forward, whips in a cross and finds Mfegue who dummies his marker but he has been brought down in opposition’s area. Free kick Kotoko. It’s taken quickly but it lacked direction and out.

51st minute – Mukwala is fed through by Morrison, he twist and turns his marker but he side nets his effort.

53rd minute – Lamptey feeds on Tedeku’s pass and lays it onto the feet of Mukwala who is through on goal but his shot is tipped over his cross bar by the goalkeeper for a corner kick .the resulting corner is out for a goal kick.

59th minute – Our warriors are piling the pressure. Great start to the second half.

61st minute – Substitution. Lamptey is off through injury and Osei Bonsu comes on to replace him.

66th minute – Free kick Kadiogo, they effect it but Sherif leaps highest to head it clear to safety.

69th minute – Morrison receives the ball from Oppong on the left, he turns his marker and strikes at goal but his effort is a tame one.

74th minute – Boadu does his trademark turn and nicks it through to Oppong who turns his opponent and wins a free kick. Nettey delivers and finds the jump of Sherif but his connection is safe in the goalkeeper’s gloves .

76th minute – Substitution. Samuel Boateng is comes on for Mukwala.

80th minute- Boateng is put through on goal from Nettey’s through ball but his strike flies high off the cross bar.

90 + 3 – Isaac Oppong scores for Kotoko.
