King Faisal Eliminate Aduana FC from the FA Cup

King Faisal Eliminate Aduana FC from the FA Cup : King Faisal Football Club destroyed the ambition of Aduana FC to win the Double of the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup this season following the penalty victory of the Insha Allahu Boys against the Ogya Side on Sunday in Abrankese.

Faisal , playing as the home team , advanced to the semis of the Cup competition with a 3-1 penalty shootout victory at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex after the game ended 2-2 in 120 minutes.

The Ogya Boys created the first dangerous attacking action of the game in the 6th minute as goalkeeper Adams Abdul Jabal of King Faisal was forced to make a great save to deny Samuel Kwesi Fabin’s side.

In the 8th minute King Faisal winger Baba Yahaya came close to scoring after escaping the marking of two Aduana players but his final effort went wide.

The home team continued to attack as playmaker Godfred Asiamah and wingers Yahaya and Samuel Kusi were all involved but against the run of play , the two-time Ghana champions took the lead five minutes before half time.

It was defender Stephen Anokye Badu who provided Aduana with the opener in the 40th minute. In the 47th minute however Asiamah was brought down in the box and Abdul Latif successfully converted the penalty to make it 1-1.

Frank Owusu made it 2-1 for Aduana in the 75th. King Faisal then pushed more men forward and succeeded in getting the equalizer through the in-form striker Benjamin Bature in the 78th minute.

The normal 90 minutes ended with the score at 2-2 as the quarter-final match was pushed into extra time. The Premier League sides exchanged attacks but the extra 30 minutes failed to see any more goals.

In the ensuing penalty shootouts , King Faisal won by 3-1.

Faisal’s Abdul Latif played the first penalty of the shootouts and he scored against Joseph Addo. Adam Jabal then saved Bright Enchil’s attempt.

Adam Jabal then took the second penalty for his team and scored to make it 2-0 for Faisal. Alex Boakye scored for Aduana to make it 2-1.

Playmaker Asiamah failed to score his attempt for the home team but Anokye Badu also failed and the score was kept at 2-1 in favour of the Insha Allahu Boys.

David Oppong Afrane then scored to make it 3-1 for Faisal. Striker Isaac Mintah wasted his attempt to close the shootout at 3-1 for King Faisal who advance to the semifinals of the FA Cup.

Aduana FC’s much talked about Double ambition this season is therefore destroyed and their full focus now goes into making sure they win the Ghana Premier League.
