Latest Real Madrid news of Monday 23rd December 2024: In the absence of Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe took matters into his hands to fire Real Madrid to victory over Sevilla in La Liga on Sunday.

Vinicius Junior was unavailable due to a suspension but there were no major problems for Carlo Ancelotti’s side as Mbappe scored on 10 minutes to put Real Madrid ahead.

Federico Valverde made it 2-0 in the 20th and Rodrygo was on target 14 minutes later as Los Blancos took a firm lead. Isaac Romero pulled one back in the 35th as the first half ended 3-1 in favour of the 15-time Champions League winners.

In the 53rd minute, it was turn of Brahim Diaz to get on the score sheet thanks to Mbappe’s assist. With five minutes from time, Dodi Lukebakio scored another for Sevilla as Real Madrid held on to win 4-2.

After the game Kylian Mbappe said to Real Madrid TV: “I think that we know each other better, my arrival changed a lot of things, and now, as the coach said, the adaptation is over and I feel very good in the team. We can see on the pitch that I click better with my team-mates and now we’re all playing better.”

Meanwhile Ancelotti told reporters: ”I think (Mbappe) has been self-critical, he’s come out of a situation that could have been complicated for him. Yesterday I said his adaptation period was over, today he showed it, sometimes I’m not wrong. We’re running a bit more, playing with more intensity, we’re doing things well again, as we have to do – they’ve been complicated months.”

In other news, the newly elected President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Rafael Louzan discloses that he is a Real Madrid fan.

He said: “I will try to meet President Florentino in the Doha final and at the same time put myself completely at his disposal. I have known him for many years and I have a lot of admiration for his ability to work, for where he has taken this club and all of us Real Madrid fans are very happy with how he has managed this great club,” he noted.

Louzan also referred to Los Blancos as the best ambassador in the world.

“(In the Intercontinental) we are faced with the possibility, once again, although it may seem easy, which it is not, that the best ambassador we have in the world, Real Madrid, could be champion. It seems that we are used to it, but despite that, this is very difficult and it is very difficult to achieve what this great club achieves.”

In more latest Real Madrid news, president Florentino Perez is already planning for the next summer transfer window, and it seems he has set his sights on adding three new Galacticos to the squad according reports Real Madrid Confidencial.

The players in question are Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, Liverpool’s Alexander Arnold, and Florian Wirtz of Bayern Leverkusen. The former duo are nearing the end of their contracts while 21-year old Wirtz has a deal that runs till June 2027.

In the left-back area, AC Milan’s Alex Jimenez is a player that Real Madrid could look to bring back in the next 18 months, as they have two options to re-sign him from Serie A giants – €9m for next summer or €12m for 2026. However, the Rossoneri want both of these clauses to be eradicated, and they will speak to Los Blancos about this in the coming months, as per La Gazzetta dello Sport.
