Full Time : Legon Cities 1 Asante Kotoko 1 : Abdulai Gazale interim era as Kotoko head coach begins with an away draw

Legon Cities 1 Kotoko 1 Match Report on March 30th : Asante Kotoko drew 1-1 against Legon Cities during their Week 24 of the Ghana Premier League on Thursday afternoon at the El Wak stadium as Richard Boadu and Alex Aso scored the goals.

The Porcupine Warriors created the first dangerous attack of the game in the 5th minute when Richmond Lamptey located Tedeku on the left with a good pass. The left back sent in a teasing cross into the opponent’s area but it was cleared by the Citites defence for a corner kick.

Ten minutes later the visiting team were awarded a penalty contested by the home team to be dubious following a hand ball incident and captain Richard Boadu stepped forward to successfully convert to put Kotoko ahead.

Replays showed the decision to award the penalty by referee Dr. Imoro Osman was correct as the Cities player clearly handled the ball.

In the 19th minute Kwabena Adu Meider took on the Kotoko defence but his final ball would not trouble Abdulai Gazale’s side.

Nafiu Moro also came close on some occasions for Maxwell Konadu’s team but Frederick Asare ensured his goal is not breached.

In the 40th minute Cameroon attacker Georges Mfegues came close to scoring but his effort went wide as Kotoko held on to end the first half with the 1-0 lead.

In the second half the two teams exchanged plenty of attacks but it was the home side who managed to equalize in the 70th minute thanks to Alex Aso.
