Maxwell Asabre on the 2022/23 Hearts of Oak Season : Former General Secretary of Hearts of Oak National Chapters Council Maxwell Asabre believes the club has failed to be successful this season because of lack of unity.
“I have not been impressed at all by Hearts of Oak performance this season.” , Maxwell Asabre told Kumasi-base Fox FM on Thursday.
The staunch Hearts of Oak supporter says the current leadership of the club are failing to maintain the standard of Phobian club and believes until the members of the club unite , the situation will never change.
“This is Hearts of Oak that conquered Africa and won the Ghana Premier League six times in a row. That is the club we are talking about.”
“I mean look at the number of FA Cups the club has won and the many titles overall and so the current direction of the club is not right.
They don’t listen to anyone and it is this lack of inclusiveness that is killing the club. There are now many factions withing the club. We have those behind the board, whether good or bad they will always defend the board.
But some of us are old enough and so we know the Hearts of Oak standard. And so if you take over Hearts of Oak you must continue the high standard. You cannot lower it. Lack of transparency , lack of accountability , all these are killing us.” , he added.
