“We will not be relegated. Trust me” – Legon Cities boss Maxwell Konadu after 1-1 Kotoko draw

Maxwell Konadu Assures Club over Premier league Stay : Legon Cities head coach Maxwell Konadu has made an assuring statement that the team will not be relegated at the end of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season following a home draw against Asante Kotoko on Thursday.

Alex Aso came off the bench to score a 70th minute equalizer for the team formerly known as Wa All Stars after captain Richard Boadu converted a 15th minute penalty to put Abdulai Gazale’s side ahead at the El Wak stadium in their Week 24 league clash.

Konadu’s side are 14th on the league table on 28 points taken from 24 matches.

Kotoku Royals who are located root bottom of the league table have 20 points , Great Olympics are 17th with 28 points whilst Tamale City are also placed 16th with 28 points.

The team at the 15th position is King Faisal also on 28 points after 24 games played. This means Legon Cities are not free from the relegation battle of the season.

Cities have now won just a game in their last eight league outings ; one win , four draws and three defeats but the former Black Stars assistant coach has promised the club not to worry about being relegated.

“Oh , we will not go to relegation. The team will not be relegated. We will climb up the ladder , trust me we will climb up. ” , Konadu said after his team’s 1-1 draw against Asante Kotoko yesterday.

What next?

Maxwell Konadu and Cities now travel to Bibiani Gold Stars on 3rd April during Week 25.
