Messi and Mbappe on Target Against Nantes : Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe were on target against Nantes during a Ligue 1 match on Saturday as Paris Saint – Germain claimed a 4-2 victory.
PSG lead the Ligue 1 standings with 63 points in 26 matches. Marseille who play against Rennes on the road on Sunday evening are second with 52 points in 25 league games.
La Pulga , recently voted Best FIFA Men’s Player of the Year for 2022 , opened the scoring in the 12th minute before an own goal by Nantes defender Jaouen Hadjam made it 2-0 for PSG in the 17th minute.
Nantes who are managed by former PSG boss Antoine Kombouare scored two quick goals in the 31st and 38th minutes through Ludovic Blas and Ignatius Ganago respectively to close the first half at 2-2.
In the second half , PSG won the difficult match by 4-2 with a 60th minute effort by Danilo Pereira and a stoppage time goal by Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe thus become the all-time top goal scorer of PSG with 201 goals in 247 games.
PSG now shift their focus to the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg clash against Bayern Munich next week having lost the first leg at home by 1-0.
