Osei Kuffour Wants Andre Ayew Out of Black Stars : Former Ghana international Emmanuel Osei Kuffour wants the technical handlers of the Black Stars to drop captain Andre Ayew from the national team even though the latter has not retired from international football.
Kuffour made 31 appearances for the Black Stars and scored 2 goals between 1996 and 2002.
“Andre Ayew is done with the Black Stars and should be shown the exit in order to open doors for emerging talents like Kudus Mohammed,” Kuffour is quoted by 3news.com.
“Dede Ayew has been with the Black Stars since 2008, and it’s time to leave. Kudus Mohammed, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and others also need the space to show us what they have.”
“Andre Ayew has served and must give way.
His younger brother Jordan is there and still has something to deliver, unlike Dede, who has fulfilled his responsibilities with the senior national team. He needs to leave and make way for others too.”
Ayew , 33 years old , has made 113 appearances for the Ghana national team and have so far scored 24 times.
He was the skipper of the team at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar but missed the 2023 AFCON qualification games against Angola in March due to an injury as stated by the Ghana Football Association.
The former captain of the Black Meteors is now on the roster of Premier League side Nottingham Forest.
