Osimhen Nets 20th Goal of Season : Nigeria international striker striker Victor Osimhen registered his 20th goal in all competitions this season for SSC Napoli who took a first leg advantage against Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday night.
The Serie A side claimed a strong 2-0 victory at the Waldstadion ahead of the second leg slated for 15th March at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples.
The prolific African attacker connected home the opener in the 40th minute thanks to a clever delivery into the surface by Hirving Lozano.
Osimhen thought he had realized a brace when he scored a another goal similar to his previous of the night but the goal was correctly disallowed as he was in an offside position before the ball was played to him.
However the leaders of the 2022/23 Serie A got their second goal of the evening through di Lorenzo Giovanni in the 65th minute as Napoli put up a dominant performance to dispatch their hosts.
Since joining Napoli from Lille in September 2020 , Osimhen has scored 48 goals and provided 13 assists in 86 games for the Italian side.
