NOT DONE YET : 38-year old Ronaldo scores twice as Portugal begin 2024 Euro qualification with a 4-0 victory

Ronaldo With a Brace against Liechtenstein : Cristiano Ronaldo was on the score sheet twice as Portugal spanked minnows Liechtenstein by 4-0 during their opening match of the 2024 Euro qualification tournament on Thursday.

The goals were his 119th and 120th for Portugal in 197 national team appearances.

The Al Nassr captain converted a 53rd minute penalty to make it 3-0 for the home team as Joao Cancelo and Bernado Silva had scored in the 8th and 47th minutes respectively to put Portugal 2-0 up.

The Portugal skipper then realized his brace in the 63rd as the 2016 European champions run riot at the Estádio José Alvalade, Lisbon.

Meanwhile Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Iceland by 3-0 in Zenica with goals from AC Milan player Rade Krunic and Amar Dedic of Red Bull Salzburg.

The game between Slovakia and Luxembourg ended 0-0 in Trnava on Thursday.

Portugal lead Group J with 4 points plus 4 goals whilst Bosnia and Herzegovina are second with three points with 3 goals.

What next?

Portugal travel to Luxembourg on March 26th for their Match-Day Two of the qualification series. Liechtenstein welcome Iceland in Vaduz whilst Slovakia are at home again against Bosnia in Bratislava.
