Successful Start for Thomas Tuchel as Bayern Manager : Thomas Tuchel got off to a flying start as manager of Bayern Munich with a 4-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund , a club he managed between 2015 and 2017.
Tuchel replaced Julian Nagelsmann as Bayern manager on March 24th following the sacking of the latter in a surprising decision.
Gregor Kobel scored an own goal in the 13th minute , Thomas Muller made it 2-0 and 3-0 in the 18th and 23rd minutes as Bayern totally dominated their big rivals at half time.
French winger Kingsley Coman added added his name on the score sheet in the 51st minute thanks to the assistance of Leroy Sane.
Dortmund threatened a comeback with goals in the 72nd minute by Emre Can and in the 90th by Donyell Malen but the game finally ended 4-2 in favour of the home team.
Bayern are back at the top of the Bundesliga table with 55 points in 26 games played as Dormund go second with their 53 points taken from 26 matches.
The final eight games remaining to close the season makes it interesting to see whether Tuchel , who won the 2021 UEFA Champions League with Chelsea , could lead the Bavarians to their record-extending 33rd league honor at the expense of his former employers.
