Hafiz Wontah Reveals Fantastic Black Stars Reception : Hafiz Wontah Konkoni has talked about his first Black Stars call-up as he discloses how he was nicely welcomed to the Ghana national team.
The Bechem United striker , 15 goals scored in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League , was the only local player in Chris Hughton’s squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against Madagascar on June 18th as Ghana left with a 0-0 outcome.
“The foreign-based players showed me love. They nicely welcomed me to the team and if you were not told , you would not know that I was a local player. We talked together and it was all great for me. I was so happy” , Hafiz Wontah said in an interview with Kumasi-based Fox FM.
“Training with all those stars like Andre Ayew , Thomas Partey , Jordan and co was really a great learning curve. There is no difference between our training sessions with Bechem United and that of the Black Stars but you know training together with those foreign based was just a beautiful thing” , he added.
