Seydou Zerbo Set To Report Asante Kotoko to FIFA : Former Asante Kotoko head coach Seydou Zerbo says he has started the process to report his former employers to the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) over the club’s refusal to settle his three-month salary.
The expatriate trainer has reacted to his departure from the Porcupine Warriors for the first time in an exclusive interview granted to Kumasi-based Fox FM on Monday July 17th.
“I have started the process to take Kotoko to FIFA in order to get them pay my salaries of three months. After the Medeama defeat in Kumasi , the CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah came to see me and informed me about the decision to cancel my contract. Indeed it was a sad moment for me but I had to accept it and move on” , Seydou Zerbo told Kumasi-based Fox FM.
He continued :
“Therefore we had a written agreement that was supported by my contract that I will receive three months salaries following my contract cancellation by the club but I have not received it as at this time. I have made several phone calls to Nana Yaw Amponsah but he does not respond. I have even sent him many messages and the situation is the same and so right now my next step is to gather all the documents and report the club to FIFA” , Zerbo said on Fox FM.
“I am told a new board is to be named. I want them to settle me , pay my monies and I know that can be done even if Nana Yaw happens to be no more the CEO since it is the club that I am dealing with or else I will have no option than to go to FIFA” , he added.
Zerbo was sacked from his role on 27th March , 2023 following a Ghana Premier League defeat against Medeama SC at the Kumasi Babayara sports stadium.
Zerbo signed a 12-month contract to become Kotoko head coach on 2nd August , 2022.
Per the contract terms as seen by GhanaSportsMarket.com , the club had the right to sack Zerbo by giving a 14-day notice prior , without paying any compensation , if he fails to record a winning result in four official consecutive matches.

The head coach was on a 3 , 000 USD monthly salary at Kotoko meaning the overall compensation that has to be paid to him is 9 , 000 USD which is equivalent to 108 , 900 New Ghana Cedis.
