Seydou Zerbo Says Medeama Deserve to win 2022/23 GPL Title : Medeama SC are deserving winners of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League title and this is according to former Asante Kotoko head coach Seydou Zerbo.
The Burkina Faso national contested two league matches against the Yellow and Mauves during the 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League season.
Zerbo and Kotoko recorded a 1-0 win at Medeama in Tarkwa on 12th November 2022 and 26th March 2023 , the eventual league winners got their revenge as Evans Augustine Adotey led the likes of Vincent Atingah , Jonathan Sowah , Derrick Fordjour , Theophilus Anobah and co to spoil the evening of the Kotoko supporters in Kumasi as they went away with a 2-0 victory.
“I played against Medeama and defeated them by 1-0 at their home ground and during the second match we (Kotoko) lost to them Kumasi and so I know their team. I think they deserve the title for me.”, Seydo Zerbo told Kumasi-based Fox FM.
“In Ghana I think there are first five teams who are on the same level and what separate these teams are the level of determination and management and Medeama have a lot of players who play with so much determination and that is what made the difference for them.” , the Burkimabe added.
Medeama clinched the league title with 60 points collected from 34 matches and they will represent Ghana in the 2023/24 CAF Champions League where they have been paired against Nigeria’s Remo Stars Sports Club in the preliminary round.
