Ghana Referees chief hails “Cath Them Young Refereeing Policy” of the GFA !

Referees Manager of the Ghana Football Association Alex Kotey says products of the Catch Them Young Refereeing Policy have made great progress within the last three years.

The FIFA retired referees says the young referees represent hope for refereeing in Ghana. Products of the Catch Them Young referees who officiated matches in the just ended Division One League Super Cup at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports complex, Abrankese were selected from the 10 football Regions of Ghana.

They displayed top quality performance in the tournament much to the admiration of football fans that thronged the venue for the competition.

‘’There is no doubt that great progress have been made and I would like to thank all the major stakeholders for contributing to this success’’ he told ghanafa.org

‘’Their performance, dedication, passion and burning desire is unbelievable and it is my hope that they remain consistent and discipline throughout this journey’’ he added.

Their work ethic, confidence, discipline, decision making and timely execution of decisions were nothing but perfect.

The Catch Them Young referees have been officiating matches at the District and Regional Football Association levels since the programme was launched in 2020.

The policy seeks to give opportunities to young boys and girls between the ages of 12-17 with the right level of passion the necessary training and development in the field of refereeing. The GFA has so far trained about 1,200 young referees across the country.

The underlisted referees officiated in the recent Division One League Super Cup.
