Heart of Lions Hold Gold Stars in Bibiani : Bibiani Goldstars faltered at home for the first time this season as they gave away a two goal lead to draw 2-2 with Heart of Lions on Monday.
The result is Gold Stars’ first home draw whiles Heart of Lions extend their drawing streak to five.
Alex Aso got the opener in the 45th minute to give his side a slim lead before the break as he reacted quickest to a rebound after goalkeeper Thomas Osae failed to deal with Appiah McCarthy’s freekick.
Osae , visibly on low confidence , was replaced in the 48th minute as coach Fatawu Salifu introduced Vincent Anane in goal.
The miners doubled their lead through midfielder Appiah McCarthy in the 55th minute as the former Ashantigold player scored an incredible freekick but the advantage was cut short two minutes later, with Yakubu Mustapha pulling one back for Heart of Lions in the 56th.
It was such a quick response from the visitors.
Captain Ebenezer Abban then scored the equalizer in the 72nd minute to make it 2-2 much to the delight of the visitors as he connected home from close range.
The result leaves Bibiani Gold Stars in 8th place with 8 points whiles Heart of Lions sit 15th with 5 points – but with a game in hand.
