Andre Ayew Red Carded on Le Havre Debut : Black Stars captain Andre Ayew experienced a dramatic debut for Le Havre in the French Ligue 1 as he was sent off a mere two minutes after coming on as a substitute against Nantes.
Ayew, who recently joined Le Havre after leaving Nottingham Forest, had hoped for a promising start with his new club.
In the 67th minute of the match, just two minutes after Ayew entered the field as a substitute, he was shown a red card by the referee for a mistimed tackle on his opponent.
This unexpected turn of events adds a layer of disappointment to Ayew’s debut, and he now faces a suspension that will see him miss the next three games.
Having been without a club before signing with Le Havre just before the November international break, Ayew will need to regroup and focus on making a positive impact once he serves his suspension and returns to the field.
The former Marseille attacker started Ghana’s 0-1 defeat against Comoros during the second match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification series on November 21st in Moroni as he was taken off at half time for Mohammed Kudus to join the game.
