Hearts of Oak Undefeated 2003 Season: Accra Hearts of Oak made history when they finished the 2003 Ghana Premier League season unbeaten to become the first team to achieve the feat in a 30-game league season in the country’s elite football history.
Great Olympics finished the 1967 First Division season without a loss after 19 games – 10 wins and 9 draws – to finish second behind league winners Asante Kotoko.
The ”Phobians” thus became the first Invincibles in Ghana football annals in a league of 30 or more matches.
Hearts recorded 18 wins and 12 draws in 30 games to finish runner-up in 2003 with 66 points while arch-rivals Asante Kotoko secured the GPL with 75 points with a record of 23 wins, 6 draws, and 1 defeat.
The 2000 CAF Champions League winners had dominated the league completely for the past six seasons, but Abdul Karim Razak, a former Kotoko player, led them to the summit of Ghana football for the first time since their last honor in 1992/93.
