Medeama SC 1 Asante Kotoko 1 Match Report: A 44th-minute header from Kwame Poku and a 68th-minute equalizer from Kamaradini Mamudu gave Asante Kotoko a deserved point on Sunday at Tarkwa TnA Stadium as the Reds continue their impressive form.

The result means the Porcupine Warriors are undefeated in their last six games in all competitions scoring 10 and conceding just 3 in that run.

Incredibly, Kotoko, who lost four successive GPL games before the revival, have never trailed in that time either. Prosper Ogum’s men picked up a 2-0 success at Aduana and followed it up with a 2-0 FA Cup win against Future Stars in Kumasi.

More victories would be obtained against Hearts of Oak (1-0), Dreams FC (1-2), and Gold Stars (2-0).

Against the Yelow and Mauves, Kotoko head coach Prosper Ogum paraded Camara Mohammed in goal as Frederick Asare continues to play second fiddle.

The back five was made of skipper Justice Blay, who just signed a one-year contract extension, Joseph Ablorh, Samba O’neil, Patrick Asiedu, and Emmanuel Kotei.

Emmanuel Antwi and Andrews Ntim Manu were the starting midfielders with Kwame Poku, Albert Amoah, and Peter Amidu Acquah as the attackers.

Unfortunately, Amoah, who returned to the Kotoko setup after featuring in the CHAN qualifiers for Ghana against Nigeria, got injured and left the game in the 36th minute with Saaka Dauda taking his place. The former Great Olympics man headed into the contest with high expectations after missing his team’s last two against Dreams and Gold Stars.

Despite a cagey and eventful first-half, the game’s opening goal would arrive a minute away from the end of the first period when Poku rose highest to glance a header into the top left corner to put Kotoko ahead.

The strike was Kwame Poku’s second in a row since making a return to the Warriors in the second transfer window of the season.

However, Kotoko’s lead was cut in the 68th minute through Kamaradini Mamudu as the match ended with the spoils shared.
