2022 CHAN : Niger President Mohamed Bazoum on cloud nine following Menas historic win over Ghana

Mohamed Bazoum : President of Republic of Niger Mohamed Bazoum has taken to Twitter to congratulate The Menas who emphatically defeated Ghana by 2-0 on Saturday night to reach their first ever semi-final at the African Nations Championship.

The Menas won the quarter-final tie with goals from attacker Imarana Seyni and striker Soumana Hainikoye as Ghana managed a single shot on target in 90 minutes.

Mohammed Bazoum also congratulated the entire team via phone call.

Formidable performance du Mena qui se qualifie avec panache pour les demi-finales face au Ghana. Parcours exceptionnel plein d'envie et de combativité en attendant la confrontation avec le pays hôte. Bravo aux joueurs, au coach, au staff technique et aux nombreux supporters.

“Great performance by Mena who qualified with panache for the semi-finals against Ghana.

“Exceptional course full of desire and fighting spirit while waiting for the confrontation with the host country.

Congratulations to the players, the coach, the technical staff and the many supporters” wrote the President of the Republic on his tweeter account, in addition to the phone call.
