Hearts of Oak go Second : Hearts of Oak defeated Berekum Chelsea by 3-1 during Week 17 of the betPawa Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports stadium as the FA Cup holders scored all three goals in the last eleven minutes.
An own goal by Berekum Chelsea stalwart defender Zakaria Fuseini put Hearts of Oak ahead in the 82nd minute as the game seemed to be heading towards a scoreless draw.
Winger Benjamin York made it 2-0 for the Phobians in the 87th before Kusi Pandrous pulled a goal back in the 92nd minute for Chelsea as they threatened a comeback.
As the visitors searched for the equalizer striker Victor Aidoo headed home in the 93rd minute to seal the win for Slavko Matic’s side.
The current holders of the MTN FA Cup are now second on the league standings with 28 points after 17 matches. Aduana Stars who drew at Bechem United on Friday are still leading the log with 32 points in 17 games.
Bechem United and Asante Kotoko completed the Top Four with 27 points each but the Porcupine Warriors play against Dreams FC in Dawu on Sunday.
Meanwhile Hearts of Oak midfielder Eric Esso was voted the Most Valuable Player of the match against Berekum Chelsea.
