We are definitely defeating Asante Kotoko on Saturday – Samartex Spokesman declares on Fox FM

Kotoko Defeat Samartex in Samreboi : Asante Kotoko edged out FC Samartex 1996 by 2-1 at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Saturday afternoon on the occasion of  Week 22 of the 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League.

Midfielder Enock Morrison netted in the 22nd minute to put the Porcupine Warriors ahead after left-back Nicholas Osei Bonsu and offensive midfielder Richmond Lamptey combined to set up the goal.

The Kotoko left-back initiated the attack on the left side locating Lamptey with a clever ball before the latter squared it into the area for Morrison to slot home.

Youngster Rocky Dwamena then made it 2-0 six minutes later as Kotoko dominated the opening thirty minutes of the encounter.

The home team had many chances to score in the first half but goalkeeper Frederick Asare and his back four defended stoutly to keep the score line at 2-0 at half time.

In the second half the home side created several goal scoring chances but Asare proved crucial making a lot of pinpoint saves to deny the likes of Evans Osei Owusu , Giyasu Ibrahim and Emmanuel Keyekeh.

However with a minute from full time , full-back Ebenezer Acquah pulled a goal back for Annor Walker’s team as they threatened a comeback but Kotoko coached by Orlando Wellington today held on to win by 2-1.

The victory means Kotoko collected their 34th league point in 21 games this season and are now 3rd on the Premier League standings though Bechem United and Hearts of Oak could move ahead of them if they also win their matches on Sunday.
