“We miss him so much” – Senegal coach Aliou Cisse on the return of star player Sadio Mane

Aliou Cisse Speaks About Sadio Mane Return : Bayern Munich attacker Sadio Mane is back with the Senegalese national team after missing the 2022 FIFA World Cup through injury and head coach Aliou Cisse cannot hide is delight.

Senegal , without their captain and biggest player Mane , still managed to qualify to the knockout stages of the World Cup in Qatar after placing second in Group A.

The Teranga Lions lost to Netherlands by 2-0 in their tournament opener , bounced back to defeat host team Qatar by 3-1 and recorded another victory over Ecuador (2-1).

Cisse and his team saw their run ended by England at the Round of 16 after a 3-0 defeat.

Sadio Mane is now back for Senegal and Cisse is a happy man.

“We did only one hour of session but it is really a pleasure to find Sadio with the Senegalese national team. We missed him so much and today he is here and happy to be there at home.” , Cisse told the media on Tuesday.

“We are very happy to have him with us in order to prepare these 3rd and 4th days which are very important against a very good team from Mozambique that we respect and that we want to beat to qualify as soon as possible for this competition,” underlined Aliou Cissé.

Senegal top the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification Group K with six points out of two matches played.

The reigning champions of Africa take on Mozambique on Friday March 24th in Dakar for their Day Three fixture before making the journey to Maputo for the reverse match on March 28th.
