The Fennec Foxes were however awarded a second penalty in stoppage time and this time Levante player Chemseddine Bekkouche successfully converted to equalize for Noureddine Ould Ali’s side.
The second leg takes place at the Kumasi Babayara sports stadium on March 28th.
Fatawu does score amazing long-range goals. He produced similar ones during the CAF U20 AFCON in 2021 where he was voted the tournament’s best player.
“It is not a new thing to me, I always do it. I always watch the goalkeeper whenever we’re playing anytime the goalkeeper makes a mistake to come out, I put it behind him,” Fatawu once noted regarding his ability to beat goalkeepers from his own half and around the center circle.
“Before the game my coach called me and talked me, he said he believes in me and I can do more than what I used to do so I have to just try and play all out. When I was going to the stadium I made my mind and said I was going all out and play for Ghana too, that made me perform.” , the Sporting CP player added.
