Marcel Koller much better than Pitso Mosimane – Ahly board member hails Swiss trainer ahead of Al Hilal CL showdown

Marcel Koller Better Than Pitso Mosimane : Al Ahly’s treasurer Khaled Mortagy believes that the club’s current head coach Marcel Koller is the best manager the club has seen since Manuel Jose.

Marcel Koller has been in charge of Al Ahly since September 2022, leading the club in 32 games of which he won 22, drew six, and lost four.

Speaking on Koller, Mortagy said:

“As a fan, I see that Al Ahly has a very good team, and it has the best coach that came to Egypt since Manuel Jose, and his technical staff is exceptional.

“Pitso Mosimane was different, but Koller is much better than him.

“Mosimane achieved titles, but Al Ahly’s performances dropped massively during his last period. There were no adequate training sessions with the South African coach.

“I don’t want to talk more about Mosimane’s negatives. He won us many trophies and we should respect him for that. He is one of the best coaches.”

In order to qualify , Ahly need an emphatic win over Sudan side Al-Hilal on their last group match of the CAF Champions League on March 31st in Cairo.
